POLICIES & CONDITIONS
These are the policies and conditions adhered to and enforced by Takumi Karate
1. Conditions of Training
Any new members first lesson is free but subsequent lessons will only be
permitted upon the completion and return of the following forms, duly signed by
the new member or their parent / guardian.
- Personal Detail Form
- Personal Medical Form
- Application For Training Licence (Insurance)
- Completion of Photographic Approval form.
2. Club Constitution
As a non profit making organisation run by the members for the members, it is
important that every member reads the constitution and is aware of it contents.
Although some of the office bearers have changed since the original constitution
was signed its contents remain the same.

3. Child Protection
All the instructors have undergone an Enhanced Scottish Criminal Records Check
in accordance with the criteria laid out by the Scottish Karate Governing Body
(under a former membership) and most recently under the membership of the
Scottish Karate Confederation and Traditional Karate Great Britain.
The club and the SKC both adhere very strictly to the Child Protection Policy
laid down by the TKGB. Members and parents are urged to read this document
carefully and in the event that any action need to be taken, they are to
following guidelines contained therein.

There are two types of insurance in use at Takumi Karate Do:
- Member to Member Insurance - this is required by all
members, regardless of grade and is their insurance cover whilst training in
the clubs dojo, attending courses, competitions or other "TKD
sanctioned karate events"
- Professional Indemnity Insurance - this required by all
"teaching" instructors who are over 18 years of age and above 3rd Kyu (brown
belt). The insurance is required to be renewed annually and is the
5. Payment of Fees, Licences etc
Takumi training fees must be paid in cash prior to the commencement of the
session in question. Licences, Gradings fees, Suits, Equipment etc, may be
paid by cash or cheque which must be made payable to Takumi Karate Do. No
cheques are to be made payable to individuals of the club.
6. Supply of Karate Equipment & Gi's (suits)
As a martial arts club, TKD benefits from favourable wholesale prices,
and as a non profit making organisation, TKD pass these savings on to the
members. The only additional cost is to cover any postage and packaging.
Please note that you do not need to purchase Gi's or equipment from
Takumi if you can get them elsewhere.

6) Takumi Karate Do will not be liable for any damages, including indirect or
consequential damages, or any damages arising from use or loss of use, data or
profits, arising from or in connection with the use of the website. Although we
will do our best to provide constant, uninterrupted access to the website, we do
